I paint a theology of ruin for the damned. Visual liturgies for outcasts. Psalms for the spiritually concussed. A voice for the misunderstood. I paint prayers for the abandoned and betrayed. My work is for those dragging themselves through the dust. Still hoping, still praying, still doubting. For those who ask if God is even there. Each piece is the tension between absurdity and the sacred, longing and holiness, grief and humor, meaninglessness and revelation. My art isn't an answer but an acknowledgment of suffering, and sympathy for the broken. My art is allegory: Ad Absurdum, Vanitas, Memento Mori, Dance Macabre, Memento Amoris and Memento Deus. As the preacher from Ecclesiastes concludes, "Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter : Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind". This verse summarizes, not only, the entire book's message, but the mission of my Art. Urging people to live with reverent awe for God and obedience to his word in response and defiance to the absurdity of life.
